Privacy policy

• Inquiry form: your name, email address, phone number, town and the services you’re interested in. Depending on the services you choose, you can also share your pets’ names, how often you’d like walks and when you’d like to start, the dates you need care, or the days you’re interested in daycare. You can also tell us how you heard about us and add a message.
• Giveaway entry form: your name, email address, phone number and town, plus an optional choice to receive email updates from us.
• Calls, texts and emails: whatever you choose to share with us.

Each form submission also includes a few processing details, such as when it arrived and a reference number that keeps the same submission from being saved twice.

Like most websites, this site receives some technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you request. Our hosting provider uses it to deliver pages and keep the site secure and working properly.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used. That’s explained below under Cookies and Google Analytics.

• To respond to your inquiry, answer your questions, talk through whether our services are a good fit, schedule a Meet & Greet, and follow up.
• If you become a client, to provide care and keep our client records.
• To run our giveaways: keep track of entries, check for duplicate entries, choose a winner by random drawing, and contact the winner.
• To understand how people use this website and make it better.
• To keep our business records, protect our website and business, and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with other businesses for their own marketing.

• Entering a giveaway does not sign you up for our emails. We only add you to our email updates if you check the optional box on the entry form. It isn’t required to enter or win.
• If you sign up, we may send occasional Wholesome Hounds news, updates and special offers by email. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of those emails, or by contacting us.
• Giving us your phone number on our inquiry or giveaway form does not sign you up for marketing text messages. We use it only to contact you about your inquiry, your pet’s care if you become a client, or the giveaway if you win.

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use our website, such as how many people visit, which pages they view, which links and buttons they use, and whether they send an inquiry or enter a giveaway. This helps us see what’s working and improve the site.

Google Analytics uses first party cookies, which are small files your browser stores, including cookies whose names start with _ga. They help recognize a returning browser. Google receives information such as the pages you visit, the website or link that brought you here (including any campaign details in the link), your browser and device type, your general location as estimated by Google, and actions such as scrolling, clicking a link to another website, or sending a form. Google says Google Analytics does not store IP addresses.

We don’t intentionally send Google Analytics your name, email address, phone number, town, pet names, messages, requested dates, or any other answers you type into our forms. When you send an inquiry, it only receives the general type of service you asked about, such as walking or boarding.

We’ve turned off Google’s advertising features for our analytics, including Google signals and ads personalization. This website doesn’t currently use advertising cookies or social media tracking pixels.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt out tool for Google Analytics (opens in a new tab). Our website still works either way.

A few trusted services help us run this website and handle the information you send us. They handle it on our behalf, under their own terms and privacy policies.

• Vercel hosts this website.
• Storyblok manages our website content and delivers the photos you see on our pages.
• Google Workspace provides our business email and the private Google Sheets where inquiry and giveaway form submissions are saved. When you send an inquiry, Google also delivers an email notification with your details to us so we can reply quickly.
• Google Analytics helps us understand how the website is used, as described above.

We may also share information when the law requires it.

Please don’t send door codes, lockbox combinations or other home access details through this website. We’ll go over those privately if we move forward.

Our Join the Team page links to an application form hosted by Google Forms. Information you submit there is collected through Google’s service, and Google’s privacy policy also applies. We use application information only to review your application and contact you about the position.

Our website links to other websites, such as PetPocketBook for client accounts and Google Forms for job applications. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.

• Inquiries: we keep inquiry information while we’re in touch with you and for a reasonable time afterward, in case you’d like to follow up or book care later. We review older inquiries regularly and remove the ones we no longer need.
• Clients: if you become a client, we keep your information for as long as you’re a client and for a reasonable time afterward for our business, tax and accounting records.
• Giveaways: we keep giveaway entries for up to 90 days after the drawing, then remove them when they’re no longer needed. We keep a record of the winner and their prize with our business records. If you signed up for email updates, we keep that sign up as described below.
• Email updates: if you signed up, we keep your name, email address and a record of when and how you signed up for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending updates and may keep a short record of your request so we don’t add you back by mistake.
• Analytics: we’ve set Google Analytics to keep detailed analytics data for 14 months. Google may keep summary reports, which don’t identify individual visitors, for longer.

Our service providers may keep their own technical records, backups or file history for a limited time, so removed information may not disappear from every system right away.

You can contact us to ask what personal information we have from you, to correct it, to unsubscribe from our emails, or to ask us to delete it. We’ll review your request, and we may need to confirm it’s really you first. We’ll remove information we no longer reasonably need. We may keep some information when we need it for business, legal, tax, accounting, security or recordkeeping reasons, and we’ll let you know if that applies.

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us. This website uses encrypted connections, and access to your information is limited to the people who need it to run our business. Still, no website, email or online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please share only what we need to respond.

This website doesn’t ask for or accept payment card information.

This website is meant for adults arranging care for their pets. It isn’t directed to children, and we don’t knowingly seek or collect personal information from children under 13. Giveaway entrants must be age 18 or older. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

We may update this page as our website or services change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
